Lesson Plan February 28 - March 11
Kindergarten
- Echo Slide Whistle and follow bean bag with voice
- Simple song Frog in the Meadow
- Use a Tortoise and Hare animal from last week to move to slow and fast music
- My Many Colored Days by Dr. Suess
- Each students gets a different colored scarf that matches a color from the book
- At the beginning all scarf colors move together, then only certain color scarves move, and at the end all scarf colors move together again.
- Students will experience form ABA
- Students will use movement to show expression of the music and the mood associated with each color scarf
1st Grade
- Echo Different voices: review from last week
- Echo Song: Down by the Bay - make up own rhymes for the class to sing
- My Many Colored Days by Dr. Suess
- Each students gets a different colored scarf that matches a color from the book
- At the beginning all scarf colors move together, then only certain color scarves move, and at the end all scarf colors move together again.
- Students will experience form ABA
- Students will use movement to show expression of the music and the mood associated with each color scarf
- Listen to and review instrument sounds with pictures (drum, triangle, guiro, woodblock, cowbell, and tambourine)
2nd Grade
- Vocal Warm-up: Sol-La-Mi Game
- Echo song: Down by the Bay - students make up their own rhymes for the class to sing
- My Many Colored Days by Dr. Suess
- Each students gets a different colored scarf that matches a color from the book
- At the beginning all scarf colors move together, then only certain color scarves move, and at the end all scarf colors move together again.

- Leave saying their favorite colored day and discussing colored days that may have surprised us with the music and feeling.
