Lesson Plan April 4-15, 2011
Kindergarten
- Bean Bag toss: follow bean bag toss with voices going up and down, students will toss the bean bag individually and make the sounds of the bean bag going up and down
- Listen to new short song Pitter Patter and tap fingers for raindrops while listening: explore different ways to show raindrops to the music
- Frog in the Meadow: students will sing solos "Froggie, Froggie, Please come out and play with me." before Froggie will come and play with each student
- Review song Naughty Kitty Cat, introduce instruments that have a scratchy sound to be used while singing the song.
- Read the story Bad Kitty and add the song with instruments everytime Kitty does something bad.
1st Grade
- Review Sol-La-Mi and learn the SoLaMi game.
- Play the sound detective game. Listening to two sounds at one time and identifying the instruments using pictures.
- Read the story Yellow Umbrella with instruments added. Everytime I touch a Yellow Umbrella the finger cymbals play, and when the page turns the Rainsticks play
- Down by the Bay: students will continue to make up rhymes and sing as a solo if they would like.
2nd Grade
- Sol-La-Mi Game. Add Solfege Re and Do and add the new rule of not saying Mi-Do-Do
- Using Easter egg shakers echo various rhythms that will be used next week when composing rhythms.
- Read the story Yellow Umbrella with instruments added. Everytime I touch a Yellow Umbrella the finger cymbals play, and when the page turns the Rainsticks play. Pass instruments to the next person after each page.
- Down by the Bay: students will continue to make up rhymes and sing as a solo if they would like.
