- March to Mr. Drum using different loud and soft sounds. Identifying loud and soft
- Explore different ways to use our voices. Speaking, whispering, calling, and singing.
- Practice these in the game Good King Leopold.
- Discuss different ways animals move and the sounds and speeds at which they move.
- Play rhythm sticks to the song-story The Cat and the Mouse
- Sing and dance with partners to Hey There, Neighbor
- Review speech chant "I Think Music's Neat" and discuss what a solo is
- Perform the speech chant giving every student a chance to be a soloist during the solo section
- Talk about high and low sounds used in Hickory, Dickory, Dock nursery rhyme. Perform rhyme with motions. Students will have the chance to play tic-toc wood blocks to the steady beat.
- Monkey See and Monkey do steady beat song. Students will learn the song and follow the teacher's motions.

- Rhythm and Vocal Echo
- Talk about hand drums and learn how to play them
- Use hand drums instead of rhythm sticks for the speech poem Go, Go, Go!
- Review the song and the game for Ha, Ha, This Away! play party. Go around the circle and let every student have a chance to be a model for the steady beat.
- Learn the song Charlie Over the Ocean. Relate this to Sol and Mi learned during the rhythm echo.
